The Past Year
We first released the Ooznest OX Mechanical Kit May last year, and it received an extremely good reception. Since then we have sold lots of OX CNC Kits to all reaches of the world, with many happy customers, this has been reflected in the reviews we have received. Some highlighted OX CNC Builds can be seen below.
Since the first month we started selling the OX CNC Kit, we received one constant request from interested customers, this was for a full kit. We sold all the main parts to get a working machine, but sourcing all the misc wires, mount..
uStepper is developed by ON Development IVS in Denmark, they are currently made up by Mogens Nicolaisen and Thomas Olsen. Mogens Nicolaisen is an electrician by trade, he specialises in Industrial Automation. For the past eight years, Mogens has had his hands full building machinery such as CNC Machines, 3D Printers, and Small electronics projects. Thomas Olsen is an electronics technician with eight years experience in repairing electronics and construction/design of test equipment for PCBs. His hobbies also reflect his passion for hardware and software design. They both are studying electrical engineering at Aalborg University.
With the recent release of the C-Beam machine mechanical kit on our website, we thought this would be a good chance to show the build of the machine we made for our workshop. All the 3D printed parts that we used on our machine are available via a download link at the end of this post.
We picked all the parts out as if we bought one of our kits. Doing this at the start saves a lot of time going to the stock room and back, and labelling all the parts makes it a whole lot quicker.
A couple of days later it’s built! In total it only took 4-6 hours, could probably be co..
Shop RADDS Here
It has been a busy couple of months here at Ooznest, with the summer brake stretching us thin and kits keeping us busy, we have been quieter than we would like on the blog and social outlets. Now the summer break is finished we are getting back into full operation, and we should be posting updates more often.
Our latest news today is that we have partnered with Max3dshop to exclusively bring RADDS (RepRap Arduino-Due Driver Shield) and related products to the UK. We have been wanting to stock a 32-bit 3D printer controller for some time now, and we feel RADDS is t..
It has been 10 weeks since we released our OX CNC Kit, and for the last 6 weeks we have been flat out shipping orders as quick as we are receiving them. We would like to give a big thankyou to everyone who purchased one of our kits. The response we got exceeded our expectations, and apologies to anyone who had to patiently wait longer than expected. Shipping of our backlog of OX CNC kits is now completely finished, therefore the lead time is now reduced to 3-5 working days!
Over the coming months we are going to be working on creating Add-On kits which can be bought in addition to the..
Two new rails are now available from our shop from today! The first new addition is 40x40mm V-Slot extrusion available in 500/1000/1500mm lengths, with our cutting service for all in-between. 40x40 offers you a whole new set of possibilities for machines designs, and perfectly compliments our current range of aluminium extrusions. As guessed, 40x40 has the "V" groove on all 4 sides, allowing each to be used as a linear rail.
There is many great examples where 40x40 can be used. On kossel 3D printers, or any delta tower that uses aluminium extrusion, 15x15 or 20x20mm extrusio..
C-Beam is an exciting new addition to our V-Slot range of products. C-Beam fully incorporates the V-Slot on all sides, but has a C-Shape profile for added strength and function. There is many situations for which a C-Beam linear rail is advantageous, CNC machines, camera sliders and 3D Printers are the obvious stand outs.
The concept of 3D printing has been around a long time, but it’s only in the last few years that the idea has really started to gain traction. Now it’s not just the engineers, architects and manufacturers who are exploring the benefits, but the designers and marketers working from home, too. 3D printing opens up a world of possibilities, making it possible to create objects from scratch in just a matter of hours. This means designers and developers can move their creations from the confines of a flat monitor into a real, physical part quicker than ever before.
3D printing is ach..
