ABS is a good filament, but it has one major downfall – it is susceptible to the elements. This is where Ooznest Materials ASA 3D Printer filament shines. ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) uses acrylate rubber instead of butadiene rubber in ABS. Due to this substitution, ASA is more weather and UV tolerant.
WHAT MAKES ASA DIFFERENT?
Ooznest Materials ASA 3D Printer filament is very resistance to weathering and chemical degradation. ASA is widely used in outdoor applications, it will hold its look, feel and strength throughout its lifetime. ABS will discolour and crack after pro-longed exposure to the environment. ASA is also resilient to salts, acids, waters and oils, making it a great all rounder when used in practical applications.
As a material ASA could be considered to be overlooked, the downfalls of using ASA 3D Printer Filament are minimal. Its mechanical properties lie right in the middle between PLA and ABS. It is slightly weaker than ABS, but is more flexible, and is more impact resistance than PLA. If you need to make an object to go outside, then Ooznest Materials ASA is your go to material.
Printing Ooznest Materials ASA is very similar to printing ABS, a high print temperature 245-255°C, and bed temperature 100°C is needed. If you proficient in printing ABS then ASA 3D Printer filament shouldn’t give you any trouble at all.
WHY CHOOSE OOZNEST MATERIALS?
At Ooznest we live, breath and dream 3D Printing. We use 3D Printers on a daily basis whether it is manufacturing parts for our machines, or just having fun.
Ooznest Materials was launched out of a necessity to bring the widest range of premium materials to every maker at affordable prices. Our filaments are manufactured in Europe to the highest standards, with only premium, not contaminated raw materials.
All our Ooznest Materials 3D Printer Filaments are manufactured to a 0.05mm diameter tolerance. Our filaments arrive vacuumed packed, inside a shrink wrapped box, with an extra special secret treat :). This insures your 3D Printer filament arrives in a pristine condition ready for printing.
Normally filament is wound onto plastic spools. We recognised that winding 3D Printer filament onto a plastic spool is completely unnecessary. All our Ooznest Material filaments are wound onto a 100% recyclable cardboard spool. Our cardboard spools are extremely rigid, they will not twist, deform, or tear from repeated use.
Not sure if our filament is right for you? Don't worry you can just buy an Ooznest Materials sample and give it a try, we guarantee you won't be disappointed with Ooznest Materials.
We have built a reputation for outstanding customer service, and we plan to keep that with Ooznest Materials. A member of our expert team is available by email or phone, for printing advice, or just a general chit chat. We have a no hassle return or exchange process, if you are happy, we are happy.

Prints well. excellent consistency. no tangles for the entire length of the spool. definitely one of the higher quality asa’s you can buy.

It prints nicely only comment would be the spool is slightly too wide for my machine so i have to print with the door open and had to print a new spool spacer to mount on

Printed great, used for printing a couple of parts for my printer that needed to stand up to higher temps near the hotend. sticks to the bed very very well, so could be worth printing on something easily removable like painters tape or a magigoo type liquid

The black asa filament is brilliant. fairly easy to print with, and a good quality finish. also, it’s a black filament that is actually black, and not like some that is more grey in colour. Will be placing another big order this week.

Works very will in my raise3d and creality printers. i just wish you sold it in 2.85mm, then i’ll would buy a lot more for my ultimaker printers too.

Very consistent, low warp and good layer adhesion

This ASA is great! It warps less than other brands I’ve tried to the point I often don’t even use brims, although I do find the outer wall wants to be printed slower (25mm/s) to prevent zits. Loving the cardboard spools too. I almost don’t want to tell you how much I like both this material and this company, in case I find it sold out next time I need to order some…

All good but different to use good quality.
