ABS 3D Printer Filament (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), is a massively popular filament currently used today, and was originally one of the first materials that could be 3D Printed. It, along with PLA, dominate the charts on the most popular material used. Even outside the realm of 3D Printing, ABS is the plastic to use, it is used to make LEGO, keyboards, power tools, there is a good chance you come in to contact with ABS on a daily basis.
WHAT MAKES abs DIFFERENT?
ABS is a thermoplastic, a temperature change doesn’t effect its chemical properties, this property lends itself well to the 3D Printing process. ABS 3D Printer filament is a very forgiving material, it is strong and tough. With a higher impact strength 35kJ/m2 compared to PLA 3.4kJ/m2, it should be used for parts where reliability is paramount. Finally ABS 3D Printer filament has a high melting temperature compared to other materials available, making it well suited for applications where heat resistance could be an important factor.
Not only is Ooznest Materials ABS Filament good for strength and durability. It is also just as much a good looking material. The chemical composition of ABS means the surface of a 3D printed object can be treated with acetone to make a glossy, smooth, layer-less finish.
A misconception about ABS 3D Printer filament is that it is difficult to print, but with the correct settings Ooznest Materials ABS Filament will give you no problems at all. Print at 245-255°C, with the heated bed at 100°C and you shouldn’t have any problems at all. Just in case you do, add some ABS Juice to your print surface, and your prints will stick, guaranteed.
WHY CHOOSE OOZNEST MATERIALS?
At Ooznest we live, breath and dream 3D Printing. We use 3D Printers on a daily basis whether it is manufacturing parts for our machines, or just having fun.
Ooznest Materials was launched out of a necessity to bring the widest range of premium materials to every maker at affordable prices. Our filaments are manufactured in Europe to the highest standards, with only premium, not contaminated raw materials.
All our Ooznest Materials 3D Printer Filaments are manufactured to a 0.05mm diameter tolerance. Our filaments arrive vacuumed packed, inside a shrink wrapped box, with an extra special secret treat :). This insures your 3D Printer filament arrives in a pristine condition ready for printing.
Normally filament is wound onto plastic spools. We recognised that winding 3D Printer filament onto a plastic spool is completely unnecessary. All our Ooznest Material filaments are wound onto a 100% recyclable cardboard spool. Our cardboard spools are extremely rigid, they will not twist, deform, or tear from repeated use.
Not sure if our filament is right for you? Don't worry you can just buy an Ooznest Materials sample and give it a try, we guarantee you won't be disappointed with Ooznest Materials.
We have built a reputation for outstanding customer service, and we plan to keep that with Ooznest Materials. A member of our expert team is available by email or phone, for printing advice, or just a general chit chat. We have a no hassle return or exchange process, if you are happy, we are happy.

Won this spool in a giveaway
print quality is excellent, good layer adhesion and such
the biggest issue i have with this is the spool itself ….
cardboard my be great for recycling. but every 50m into the spool the filament is trapped between the cardboard side and the wound filament. there is no give as the filament is pulled through the extruder it pulls tighter into the side until it stops extruding
so far have had 8 failed prints
this would be good if you were only printing small models.
printing larger models, over 50m usage, will fail constantly
will not be buying cardboard spools in the future
will stick to master spool system

Good quality prints once you dial in the settings.

Love the fact you can buy filament in samples from oozenest, the midnight black has a really nice satin finish, its a touch more tricky to print than the abs pro filament but i⊙ve achieved great results a 245 degrees with an 80 degree bed on a non-enclosed printer, my bed is on cold side as i⊙m lazy so if you get warping just turn it up!

I don’t use ABS really but needed a small amount to print a new part. I like that Ooznest sell small sample reals as it was just enough for the job
