Duet 3 Magnetic Encoder senses motor position and rotation using a Hall effect sensor to detect a diametrically-magnetised disc magnet mounted on the rear shaft of a stepper motor. This allows for precise closed-loop feedback when used in motion control systems.
The encoder is designed to mount on the back of NEMA17 stepper motors. Different length mounting screws are required depending on the motor used, but these are not supplied.
Fully compatible with the Duet 3 Expansion Board 1HCL, the Magnetic Encoder enables closed-loop control, improving accuracy and reliability in demanding applications.
