Duet 3 Scanning Z Probe is a high-speed inductive probe designed for precise surface mapping. Using a PCB coil to sense surfaces inductively, it is optimised for 3D printing applications but can also be used in other systems where detailed point-mesh scanning is required.
Unlike traditional probes, the Scanning Z Probe remains at the same Z height while taking measurements, allowing it to perform scans much more quickly. It also features a built-in accelerometer, enabling input shaping calibration to reduce vibrations and improve motion quality.
The probe is split into two components: a PCB sensing coil and a separate processing unit. This design gives greater flexibility in coil placement, making it easier to integrate into different machine setups.
