Medium Gantry NEMA23 Screw Drive Actuator (20x40mm, 139mm Travel)
NEMA23 screw drive actuator for precise positioning of high loads. Built from our modular aluminium extrusion system for easy integration.
Medium Gantry NEMA23 Screw Drive Actuator (20x40mm, 139mm Travel) is a screw-driven linear actuator designed for use with a NEMA23 stepper motor. It converts rotary motion into linear movement, providing a practical solution for applications that require finer positioning and controlled movement. Built around our modular aluminium extrusion system, the actuator offers a cost-effective solution for linear motion and is easy to integrate into a complete system or machine.
Key Features
- Screw Drive: Converts motor rotation into linear movement through a screw and nut mechanism.
- Motor Compatibility: Designed for use with a NEMA23 stepper motor.
- Higher Resolution: Screw-driven motion typically provides finer movement increments than belt-driven motion using an equivalent motor and control setup.
- Resistance to Deflection: The lead screw drive helps resist displacement along the travel axis under load.
- Linear Positioning: Provides controlled movement along a single axis when paired with a suitable motor and control system.
- Modular Construction: Uses parts from our aluminium extrusion system for easy integration into a complete system or machine.
Pros and Cons

Application
Linear actuators can be used in positioning systems for sensors and inspection cameras, small automation projects such as parts feeders and sorting mechanisms, and camera sliders for video and time-lapse photography. They can also be combined to create 2-axis or 3-axis machines for pen plotting, laser cutting, CNC machining or 3D printing, with actuator selection depending on the load and precision required. They are suitable for researchers, developers, businesses and personal use. Their cost-effectiveness and modular construction make them easy to integrate into a wide range of applications.
